The size of the pie

Why this is worth preparing for.

GTA isn't a game launch — it's the biggest entertainment platform on earth rebooting. The money is already proven; GTA 6 just makes the pie bigger.

230M
GTA V copies sold — 2nd best-selling game ever
$10B+
GTA V lifetime revenue (franchise ~$465M units)
~250K
FiveM peak players — outsells base GTA on Steam
$1M+/day
GTA Online recurrent spend (Shark Cards, GTA+)

The creator-economy model is already a money machine.

GTA 6 is widely expected to lean into UGC. Here's what that model pays elsewhere — the template Rockstar is chasing:

~$1.5B
Roblox creator payouts in 2025 ($4B+ all-time)
$722M
Fortnite creator payouts — 7 people earned $10M+ each
40%
Fortnite's cut of item-shop revenue paid to creators
$5–$390
Per-asset price range on Rockstar's Cfx Marketplace

Everything we know so far

GTA 6, the confirmed facts.

Release
Thursday, 19 November 2026 · preload 12 Nov · the date Rockstar has officially committed to.
Price
$80 Standard, $100 Ultimate (adds exclusive vehicles, shops & a car mod shop). PS5 & Xbox Series X|S at launch; PC expected later. Physical copies ship disc-free.
Setting
The fictional state of Leonida (a take on Florida), anchored by a modern Vice City — Rockstar's neon love letter to Florida.
Protagonists
Lucia Caminos & Jason Duval — the first numbered GTA built around a romantic criminal partnership. Lucia is the series' first major non-optional female lead.
Hype
Trailer 2 hit 70M+ views in ~20 hours; the most-anticipated launch in entertainment, full stop.
Online & UGC
A GTA Online successor is expected. Rockstar owns FiveM/RedM (Cfx.re) and launched an official paid Cfx Marketplace (Jan 2026) — the groundwork for a creator economy. Take-Two says it won't be full-Roblox, but curated creator tools are coming.

⚠️ Some creator-economy specifics are still unconfirmed — we flag rumor vs fact in the "Straight truth" section below.

The playbook

Four lanes. Ranked by how soon you get paid.

1 · Marketplace assets

Money now

Sell scripts, maps & server packs on Rockstar's official Cfx Marketplace — FiveM/RedM today, GTA 6 next.

EffortMed–High
Time to first £Weeks
Ceiling$5–$390 / asset
How it actually works
  • FiveM resources run on Lua, JavaScript & C# — your coding skills transfer directly.
  • Most money is in scripts & complete server bundles, not 3D art. You don't need Blender.
  • Cfx is invite-based + manually reviewed; a polished 2–3 piece portfolio gets you in.
  • Highest-demand: HUDs, jobs/economies, anti-cheat, Discord bridges, AI-NPC scripts.

2 · Community tools

Money now

Maps, calculators, trackers, dashboards around the game. No gatekeeping — earn while the game's closed.

EffortLow–Med
Time to first £Days
CeilingAds / affiliate / premium
How it actually works
  • Build a PWA/site for players (this very page is the proof-of-concept).
  • Monetize via display ads, affiliate links, or a small premium tier.
  • The win is SEO timing: rank before launch, ride the search wave on day one.
  • Ideas: interactive map, business/heist calculators, stat trackers, server browsers.

3 · Content engine

Pre-launch build

Automated clipping → captioned shorts → scheduled posting. The audience is the asset; the game is swappable.

EffortMed, then auto
Time to first £1–3 months
CeilingCreator fund / sponsor
How it actually works
  • Pipeline: ingest → find highlights → cut → 9:16 reframe → caption → post.
  • Build the audience now on GTA 5/FiveM, explode it at launch.
  • Clip content you own — auto-reposting others' VODs = bans. Mute in-game radio (copyright).
  • Revenue: YouTube/Shorts/TikTok funds, then sponsorships once you have reach.

4 · Native UGC

Speculative

Missions, modes & cosmetics inside GTA 6 itself. Skills transfer 1:1 from FiveM. The big — unconfirmed — prize.

EffortTBD
Time to first £Post-launch
CeilingUnknown rev-share
How it actually works
  • If GTA 6 ships Roblox/UEFN-style tools, creators build & sell experiences in-game.
  • Comparable pools are huge: Roblox ~$1.5B/yr, Fortnite $722M to creators.
  • No SDK exists yet — prep by mastering FiveM now; the skills carry over.
  • Watch signal: Rockstar's "Creator Platform" job postings + Cfx Marketplace growth.
Deep dive

Where the money actually is.

The FiveM roleplay economy is the closest live preview of GTA 6's. Here's exactly how servers and creators get paid today.

Revenue streams · ranked
1 · VIP / donor packages#1 earner
2 · In-game currencyskip the grind
3 · Properties & vehiclescollectibles
4 · Cfx Marketplace assetssell to servers
Price guide · what players pay
Custom vehicle$5–$25
Exclusive garage$10–$30
House / apartment$15–$50
Ownable business$25–$100
$500–$10K+ per month for a healthy 50–200+ player RP server

Script creators selling on Tebex commonly clear $2K–$10K+/mo. Cfx's exact creator rev-share isn't public yet (as of 2026), and this is self-employment income (Schedule C in the US) — set aside for tax. The servers that win monetize value-first: players gladly pay for experiences they love, not pay-to-win shakedowns.

The unfair advantage

Build all of it with AI.

You don't out-work the field — you out-build it. AI agents write the scripts, ship the tools, cut the clips and draft the docs. This entire site was AI-built in an afternoon. Steal these workflows + prompts.

🛠️ Marketplace assets

  1. Spec the resource → have AI write the Lua/JS + config + fxmanifest.
  2. AI writes the README, install steps & a demo-video script.
  3. You test, polish, price, submit to Cfx.
You are a senior FiveM resource developer. Build a production-ready [RESOURCE TYPE] for the QBCore framework in Lua. Requirements: [LIST]. Deliver config.lua (fully configurable), fxmanifest.lua, the client/server scripts with clear comments, and a README with install steps. Keep it performant and standalone.

🧰 Community tools

  1. Describe the tool → AI builds a single-file PWA.
  2. AI wires a Cloudflare Worker + any data.
  3. Deploy, SEO it, monetize.
Build a single-file PWA (HTML/CSS/vanilla JS, served by a Cloudflare Worker) that is a [TOOL IDEA] for GTA players. Mobile-first, offline-capable, dark premium UI, fast. Include meta tags for SEO around "[KEYWORD]". No external dependencies.

🎬 Content engine

  1. Feed a VOD transcript → AI finds the best moments.
  2. AI writes hooks, captions & hashtags per clip.
  3. Auto-cut with ffmpeg, schedule, post.
You are a short-form video editor. From this VOD transcript, pick the 5 highest-retention 20–40s moments. For each return: start/end timestamp, a punchy 5-word hook for the on-screen title, a one-line caption, and 8 relevant hashtags. Transcript: [PASTE]

🌆 Native UGC (prep)

  1. Design mission/mode concepts now.
  2. AI drafts beats, objectives & balance.
  3. Ship the instant GTA 6 tools drop.
Design a GTA-style heist mission for a Vice City setting. Give me: a one-line premise, 4–6 mission beats, objectives per beat, locations, a difficulty curve, failure states, and a reward structure. Make it feel like a Rockstar mission. Theme: [THEME]

Model tip: default to the latest, most capable Claude (Opus) for code & design; use a fast/cheap model for bulk content like captions. Agents can run these on a schedule so the work happens while you sleep.

FAQ & glossary.

New to the GTA modding world? Here's the plain-English version of everything you'll run into.

What is FiveM?
A multiplayer modification for GTA V that lets people run their own custom servers — different maps, jobs, rules, economies. It's where the roleplay (RP) scene lives, and Rockstar now owns it (via Cfx.re). Peaks at ~250K concurrent players, more than the base game on Steam.
What's the Cfx Marketplace?
Rockstar's official store (launched Jan 2026) where creators sell FiveM/RedM scripts, maps, vehicles and bundles to server owners. Prices run $5–$390. It's the on-ramp to GTA 6's creator economy — and it's invite-based, so apply early.
ESX vs QBCore — what are they?
The two dominant RP frameworks a server is built on. ESX is older and very established; QBCore is newer and modular. Most paid scripts target one or both — when you build, pick QBCore unless you have a reason not to.
What's an MLO?
A custom map interior you can walk into — a club, shop, police station, etc. MLOs need 3D tools (Blender/3ds Max), so they're a slower ramp than scripts.
Do I need to know 3D modeling?
No. The biggest, most reliable market is scripts — and those are written in Lua, JavaScript and C#. Your coding skills transfer directly. Leave the 3D art for later or outsource it.
Can I really make money before GTA 6 launches?
Yes. The FiveM/Cfx economy is live right now. RP servers earn $500–$10K+/mo; individual assets sell for $5–$390. You build the skills and the catalogue today, then ride GTA 6 when it lands.
What's "rev-share"?
The split between the platform and the creator on each sale. Roblox/Fortnite-style platforms keep a cut and pay creators the rest. Cfx's exact percentage isn't public yet — plan conservatively.
Will I get banned for modding?
Using the official ecosystem (FiveM, the Cfx Marketplace) is legitimate — Rockstar owns it now. What gets you banned is piracy (reselling leaked paid assets) or cheating. Stay legit and you're fine.
What about GTA 6 / "SixM"?
A GTA 6 equivalent of FiveM (nicknamed "SixM") and a rumored first-party platform ("Project ROME") are widely expected but not confirmed. The smart play is to master FiveM now — the skills carry straight over.
NUI · in-game web UI native · built-in game function ped · a character / NPC vector3 · an x,y,z coordinate server.cfg · server config file ensure · start a resource fxmanifest.lua · resource manifest Tebex · server payment platform
Straight truth

No hype. Here's what's real.

The "£200M creator program" is not an announced Rockstar program — it's an extrapolation. Plan for the real version, not the headline.
Take-Two officially told analysts they are not building a Roblox-style third-party platform — they'll offer curated creator tools inside their own ecosystem.
What's actually real and earning today is the Cfx Marketplace for FiveM/RedM. It's the on-ramp, and it has a queue — being early wins.
